Simmons Announces Continued Investment to Fuel Growth in Capacity and Capability in Wet Pet Food
Siloam Springs, AR (September 2, 2021) - Today Simmons Pet Food announced plans for continued investment to fuel growth in capacity and capability in its wet pet food business.
“Our commitment to high-quality nutrition and pet parent preferences is creating strong demand for our customers,” said Scott Salmon, President of Simmons Pet Food. “We are excited about the opportunities ahead to take care of our customers and make more food for the pets we love. To do this, we plan to make significant investments in new capacity for three-ounce canned pet food, to come online in 2023.”
The addition of three-ounce capacity is part of a strategic growth plan expected to surpass $500 million in capital investment over a three-year period. The company will announce more details about the project at a later date.
Salmon added, “As we execute this growth plan, we are making strategic choices about how we invest our resources and align our actions with our vision to be the most trusted partner in the industry for food that nourishes and delights the pets we love. That is why, we are also transitioning the resources currently dedicated to our dry pet food and pet treats operations to the wet pet food business.”
This comes on the heels of the opening of a $100 million canned pet food operation in Dubuque, IA. Expansions and production enhancements are also in progress in Siloam Springs, AR and Emporia, KS, respectively.
